Resona — Privacy Policy

Resona is an on-device audiobook reader. Your privacy is simple with us, because the app is built to keep your data on your devices.

What we collect

Nothing. Resona has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. We do not collect, sell or share any personal data.

What stays on your device

• Your books and reading positions are stored locally on your device.
• Text-to-speech runs entirely on your device. The text of your books is never sent to a server for narration.
• Text scanning (OCR) is performed on-device using Apple’s Vision framework. Photos you scan are not uploaded anywhere.

iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, Resona syncs your library, reading positions and narrator choice between your own devices through your personal iCloud account. This data is only accessible to you under Apple’s iCloud terms; we have no access to it.

Book downloads

When you browse or download public-domain books from the built-in catalog, the app connects directly to Project Gutenberg (gutenberg.org) to fetch them. No personal information is included in these requests.

Purchases

Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. See Apple’s privacy policy for how Apple handles purchase data.
